Eliminate monthly cable modem rental fees with the AC1900 Nighthawk Dual-Band Cable Modem Router from Netgear. This device combines a modem and a router to provide you with both wired and wireless Internet connectivity for your home or office. Setup is simple as it’s equipped with one coaxial port and four Gigabit Ethernet ports for your wired devices. Wireless 802.11b/g/n/ac devices will also be able to connect to this device on the 2.4 or 5 GHz band. Once configured, you’ll be able to achieve speeds of 600 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz connection and 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. These enhanced data rates ensure you can stream HD content, download large files quickly, play online games, and much more. The Nighthawk also provides a wide range of security features, including a customized URL to set up a personal FTP server, separate guest network access, Wi-Fi protected access, double firewall protection, and denial-of-service attack prevention.

If you need a combo wifi router and cable modem in one unit this is a good one. It’s self standing, doesn’t take up much space and is easy to set up. I had trouble with my internet service provider but the tech support and trouble shooting provided free for 90 days by Netgear was excellent and I was able to call back my ISP and get the issue resolved without a technician coming to my house.

Finally replaced the rented Xfinity gateway with the C7000. I was always afraid that it would be a hassle and that I’d screw it up. Well, I was wrong. It took me all of half an hour without any assistance,and I’m not that savvy with the latest tech. It’s been two weeks and everything has been great. My service is faster now than I thought possible, and I’ve not had any interruptions. I couldn’t be more pleased. My only regret is that I didn’t do this a lot earlier.

I purchased this item in hopes of upgrading and older NetGear Model that has aged a bit maybe needed a boost. The instructions were difficult to follow I had to call the help line to line up connectivity. The New C7000v2 was no better than the 7-8 year old product I previously had. I was very disappointed and returned the product immediately.

It was working all fine for a year and when I upgraded to xfinity gigabit plan, somehow it’s firmware was getting upgraded and it never turned on after that. I don’t trust Netgear anymore.
