Eliminate monthly cable modem rental fees with the AC1900 Nighthawk Dual-Band Cable Modem Router from Netgear. This device combines a modem and a router to provide you with both wired and wireless Internet connectivity for your home or office. Setup is simple as it’s equipped with one coaxial port and four Gigabit Ethernet ports for your wired devices. Wireless 802.11b/g/n/ac devices will also be able to connect to this device on the 2.4 or 5 GHz band. Once configured, you’ll be able to achieve speeds of 600 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz connection and 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. These enhanced data rates ensure you can stream HD content, download large files quickly, play online games, and much more. The Nighthawk also provides a wide range of security features, including a customized URL to set up a personal FTP server, separate guest network access, Wi-Fi protected access, double firewall protection, and denial-of-service attack prevention.

Works a lot better than the xfinity gateway. It took awhile to connect and kept disconnecting the first day but i left it alone and it has been great ever since. The same thing happened to my gateway so it might just be the apartment i live in.

This modem/router combo works okay. You constantly have to reset the modem once per day because it slows down drastically but once you reset it, it works fine. I have to reset about once or twice a day, which can be really annoying. Especially since WFH/ remote jobs are big right now.

I switched to this modem/router from an Aris surfboard sbg10 because my Aris was cutting connection several times a day and I work from home. This nighthawk has been solid so far for connection, however, I am only getting around 270mbs download vs around 450mbs with the Aris. This is confusing to me because the product data sheet specifies that it is certified up to 600mps with xfinity, which is what I have. I do appreciate the stability and recognize that this discrepancy may be due to something on my end, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

When you buy this router it replaces your xfinity router you are renting and is compatible with most Internet providers. The coverage is awesome and signal is very stable. I have been using it for past 4 years without any issues.

My wife and I installed this modem router a week ago. I was told to avoid a combo unit like this because if they break its difficult to figure out which part of it is broken. So far we have zero problems! The Nighthawk is able to support multiple video conferences, gaming, and high speed HD streaming. We live in a 1700 sq ft townhouse and the Nighthawk has no problem reaching all corners of our home. 5/5 recommend!
