Description
Eliminate monthly cable modem rental fees with the AC1900 Nighthawk Dual-Band Cable Modem Router from Netgear. This device combines a modem and a router to provide you with both wired and wireless Internet connectivity for your home or office. Setup is simple as it’s equipped with one coaxial port and four Gigabit Ethernet ports for your wired devices. Wireless 802.11b/g/n/ac devices will also be able to connect to this device on the 2.4 or 5 GHz band. Once configured, you’ll be able to achieve speeds of 600 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz connection and 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. These enhanced data rates ensure you can stream HD content, download large files quickly, play online games, and much more. The Nighthawk also provides a wide range of security features, including a customized URL to set up a personal FTP server, separate guest network access, Wi-Fi protected access, double firewall protection, and denial-of-service attack prevention.

The modem/router does what we need it to do. My only issue is that we don’t need both 2.4 and 5 ghz wifi, so I eliminated one from the admin panel. However, the modem/router still displays that it is emitting both. A little less wifi floating around would be great….

I was able to register with our internet provider with no issues. The small footprint of the all-in-one modem router is a bonus for any desk setup as well.

The modem/router work fine, the only issue was the setup kept sending me in a loop with a “Firmware update is needed” error which turned out to be false. This was due to using Spectrum as my cable provider.

This is a great combo modem/router. Pretty easy to self install and setup. Works great once going. Pulled a star because the app doesn’t seem to work. On investigation, this is a common problem. Don’t force us to use a bad app for install/maintenance.

I normally use a modem provided by Spectrum. I wanted to save my money and decided to try to use own modem. this is my first time to do. It is really easy. nothing needed except just power on and call Spectrum to let them know my device’s mac address. that’s it. It works well after that. EASY!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY.
