Eliminate monthly cable modem rental fees with the AC1900 Nighthawk Dual-Band Cable Modem Router from Netgear. This device combines a modem and a router to provide you with both wired and wireless Internet connectivity for your home or office. Setup is simple as it’s equipped with one coaxial port and four Gigabit Ethernet ports for your wired devices. Wireless 802.11b/g/n/ac devices will also be able to connect to this device on the 2.4 or 5 GHz band. Once configured, you’ll be able to achieve speeds of 600 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz connection and 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. These enhanced data rates ensure you can stream HD content, download large files quickly, play online games, and much more. The Nighthawk also provides a wide range of security features, including a customized URL to set up a personal FTP server, separate guest network access, Wi-Fi protected access, double firewall protection, and denial-of-service attack prevention.

For those of use that have families it’s easy to set up. You can limit online times for childrens devices. You can even allot bandwidth for the devices. All this can be done from the Nighthawk app. I have 0 issues with how they made it easy for everyone.

The modem itself was easy to setup, I have no issues with it. But comcast refuses to send you a correct boot file with the speeds you purchased. I have the 600MB extreme tier. Now I had the rented XFi Modem and I got over 600 on both wired and wireless devices. But this modem I only get 250MB Max wireless and 400 Wired. Multiple calls to Xfinity does nothing. And It has to be comcast end not my wires as I simply unhooked my old XFI rented modem and directly hooked up my Netgearand activated then I got the huge speed drop. Searching google I found many users with this exact same modem and Xfinity {comcast} have the same issues with no fixes. I will have to return the modem and get a different model unfortunately.

In general the router has had good coverage, but my ping rate is inconsistent making virtual meetings glitchy and problematic. My old dying router provided better MS Teams streaming coverage. Not a great teleworking product unfortunately. Especially if you rely on Wi-Fi.
