This mesh Wi-Fi kit features a router with an integrated DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem that works with most major U.S. internet service providers, supporting up to 10 Gb/s download speeds and 1 Gb/s uploads. Having an integrated modem may also save you money over the long term by helping you to avoid device rental fees. The system also includes one satellite to create a unified network, supporting up to 40 devices and covering up to 5000 square feet while delivering 4400 Mb/s transfer speeds over the 2.4 GHz and dual 5 GHz frequencies for smooth 4K video streaming and online gaming experiences as you move from room-to-room. Wired devices such as computers, smart TVs, and video game consoles can be connected to the Gigabit Ethernet ports located on the router or satellite. You can quickly set up, manage, and monitor the mesh system using the Orbi app, and your wireless network is protected by both WPA3 encryption and an optional Netgear Armor subscription.

I am truly impressed with the quality and performance of this mesh system!! I was skeptical about good coverage going from a two antenna system to a one antenna setup. To my surprise, this setup not only gave me way better coverage, but also much better speed and performance!! I almost purchased another antenna before I had this system setup. We’ll, glad I didn’t because it was not needed!! I almost upgraded to the AX6000, but I don’t see the point right now!!

I replaced my previous Netgear modem router with the Orbi because it wasn’t working well in my home and it was the best decision I could have made. There are no longer any weak internet signal areas in my house. I have Spectrum and multiple Roku sticks throughout the house and they are all working well now.

Nice combination cable modem and router. My only real complaints would be the lack of a web interface or app for the Macintosh – not all of us want to set these up on a cell phone or iPad – and the less than stellar setup and signup for the security subscription. The iOS app also needs work compared to what I had with my eero app.
