This modem has been able to keep up with the traffic that is flowing in and out of my house. I’ve had no downtime on it (that wasn’t caused by ISP issues). It plays well with my Apple Airport Extreme router. Having the ability to get 1 Gig service from my ISP is a plus, but I currently use 500 Mbps and it handles it effortlessly. This is a great future proof investment.

This new model Netgear DOCSIS 3.1 was purchased to phase out a rented Comcast DOCSIS 3. All that was needed was to swap out the modems, and when the registration screen pops up when the modem boots, fill out an activation form. Easy. It is pricey for a modem but you get what you pay for. The Netgear modem is about twice the size of the Comcast modem, more like a router.

This thing is about as tall as a typical router. It’s a third taller the the Arris modem I was using before. The power plug is somewhat large, wish that was a standard size and ran to a brick so the plug would fit better. Other then that, it’s been plug and forget, which is exactly what you want from this type of equipment.

Recently purchased this modem (CM1000) to take advantage of cable internet provider (Comcast) speed upgrade. I am now getting 180 Mbps download speeds. The CM1000 is fully compatible with Comcast. Purchasing your cable modem pays off in less than a year when you consider the monthly rent for the identical modem through your internet provider.

Replacing the router I had with CM1000 solved all the problems I had with my wifi speed. The speed rose from 75 Mbps to over 300 Mbps which was what I was supposed to get. The installation is easy and Netgear has simplified it to the greatest extent. The price paid is well worth! Go ahead if you are undecided to buy one!

After the initial install on my Cox service I needed to restart the modem weekly, then I had problems getting things to load on my TV. But after calling Cox about my concerns they did a remote update and it’s been working fine ever since!

Before purchasing the netgear 1 gig modem my internet was Spotty. Would hardly want to use it due to the inconsistency of connection and lag input. Ever since I got this modem, my speeds have been consistently over 700mbps. Only reasons why I don’t get constant 10000mpbs is because my internet provider can not 100% guarantee 1Gb speed.
