We had an issue with our modem after the power company worked on our street. The modem was non-operational. In less than a few days, Netgear sent us a new modem. All we had to do was send the old one back. It didn’t cost us a dime. The customer service was surprisingly quick and easy! The new modem works great!!!

The CM1000 is a plug-n-play device without any configuration. However, it is a modem and not a router. This means once you connect a laptop to test the Internet connection directly, the ISP remembers the laptop’s MAC address and makes subsequent installation of router difficult unless you are pairing it with a Netgear wifi router which allows it to emulate the earlier MAC address that works.

I replaced an older Surfboard 6141 with this Netgear CM1000 32×8 modem. I was not getting the internet speed I was entitled to with my ISP provider of 250Mbs. I was having frequent loss of connection issues during Zoom calls with multiple participants with my old modem and now the connection issues have stopped. The setup and connection of the new modem with my ISP was easy and the signal and speed is solid. I am using a older Netgear AC1750 router and I am getting over 275 Mbs speed now on a consistent basis. Very satisfied so far.

Bought this in August and have had our cable company out each month to fix this. We have had the escalation specialists out and have told us the reading from our modem is only reaching 380 at the highest. Have been trying to communicate with Netgear support and it has been abysmal. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I will never purchase Netgear again!

Modem install fairly easy after I contacted my cable provider. The instructions need to say contact cable provider to do it wirelessly. Seems to be working well now after install complete.
