This modem works so poorly, that I went over on my cellular data plan by using my phone at home. I had Comcast out multiple times to figure out the problem with the connection. We “rented” their unit to see if it improved, and it is night and day. No more dropped connections. Really feels like this modem was a huge waste of money. Do not buy.

Comcast notifies me to upgrade my cable modem to take advantage of better speeds. Since I have a Netgear wireless router, I thought I would choose a Netgear modem to makes things easy. Wishful thinking, to say the least. First off, I spent way too much time with Comcast support just to get my service to recognize this modem so my patience was already worn thin with the completion of this first step. Once this was done, I thought I would be able to connect my Netgear modem to the Netgear router and all would be good. Wrong!! The software for both boxes had the latest updates but no internet service was recognized. System resets (PC, modem & router) and still nothing. So much for compatibility of Netgear equipment. Back in the box it went for a return.

I upped my service with Cox internet to the Gigiblast to see if it is all it’s ment to be I saw an increase in up and down load speeds but not as fast as advertised.. but faster there are so many factors that effect speed you can’t really tell what’s a true speed but all’s well my overall speed is up and the modem dose it’s job with out any problems
