CM1000v2 is a very good unit, however I have two VoIP phone lines and needed the phone plugs as well, so had to trade this very good unit for the CM1150v unit which is doing terrific! Thank you for your great products.

As a disclaimer: I did not pay full price for this, and I never would. At its full price point, there are better options; however, this gets the job done as a basic DOCSIS 3.1 modem. Getting this thing onto my account was a pain and that’s why it loses a star. You MUST connect and activate it to a computer via ethernet port. Most modern laptops like mine don’t have that and I wasn’t paying extra for an adapter. So I had to call Comcast customer service and get it added manually. I haven’t noticed a change in my internet speed at all as others have noted (I pay for gig with xfinity and still average 400 mbps, though the signal seems steadier). I’ve also not experienced dropped signals like other reviews across the internet claim. TL;DR – This is a great intro 3.1 modem to future-proof yourself some if you get it for the right price, but the set up process is frustrating.

The modem bricked itself after 18 months. Netgear support was useless. I waited 45 minutes on hold only to have the guy register me an account on their website and ask for a credit card. Wouldn’t even discuss or troubleshoot the issue. Warranty period (90 days) is long past. Save your money and buy from a brand that stands behind their products for longer than 90 days.

Got this modem few months back in an AAFES store ( military store). I been having issues right from the beginning, tried to get help from netgear support Center and because I could not find my receipt and they do not recognize the military store (PX) no support was giving to me.

Using it on Xfinity network, it took me only 15 minutes to setup and get activated. Works as designed and is ready for the coming deployment of Gig speed from xfinity and others. Really happy with it and feel this helps future proof me for a couple of years. A good investment. Compared to renting a modem from xfinity, this thing pays for itself in less than 2 years!
