The Comcast rep suggest I go with a DOCSIS 3.1 Modem so I knew Netgear would provide me with what I needed. Found the CM1000 to fit my needs. So glad I invested in this modem cause I know it will take care of my internet needs for years to come.

The CM1000 is a solid modem and does exactly what it’s supposed to! It’s super simple to get set up & just works! I have gigabit internet with Comcast & this thing pushes that signal no problem!! Great product & thumbs up!

I’ve had countless issues between my ISP and less expensive modem and modem/router combination devices. Despite still having signal issues (to be resolved by rewiring my home), this modem has delivered a more consistent, fast connection. If and when there are issues, this modem instantly reconnects resulting in little to no lag. In summary, I don’t NEED to keep this modem, but have chosen to do so. You won’t regret this or any Netgear purchase.

Works as expected. Getting even more bandwidth than promised, but that could be the ISP’s doing. At least the modem takes it in stride.

The Netgear CM1000 was a breeze to setup and once registered, I ran an internet speed test to find out that I was now getting the maximum speed for my service. Highly recommend it.

Bought this as an upgrade from a cable modem that was only DOCSIS 3.0 capable and needed DOCSIS 3.1 in order to upgrade my internet service to faster speed. After a week it is performing the way it should be. Set up was fast and easy, just called my ISP with the new MAC address and after 10 minutes I was up and running again. I am having a few issues with packet losses (uncorrectable), but I am 99% certain that this is an issue on caused by my ISP. Been fighting them for years on this, thought we had the problem resolved 6 months ago, but with the weather warming up and going into spring thaw something in the local node might have given up the ghost. I do have two minor issues with the CM1000. The first one is when logging into it to check status it takes surprisingly long to bring up the web based interface, a lot longer than I would expect and longer than any of the other 4 cable modems I have had over the last 10 years. Once the web based interface is up, the access speed issue is gone. I would assume that this is due to the interface does not reside in the internal memory and needs to be called up, leaving the system to focus strictly on it’s function as a cable modem during 99% of its normal time on. That is a tradeoff I am more than willing to accept. The second issue I have with this cable modem is that it has very little internal functionality other than just acting as an interface between the cable company and my own home network. All the other cable modems I have used have had internal firewall functionality built in and able to customize it. This is something that is not that big of an issue since I do run a gateway computer between my cable modem and the rest of my home network, but having that added layer of security would be nice. I am going to be upgrading my gateway computer because of this, which it is overdue for an upgrade anyway, this is just giving me a reason to actually get around to doing it.

We cut the cable and now use this to stream via Comcast Xfinity internet. No more rental fees on Xfinity modem.

Easy to set up. Had it up and running in less than half hour. Tried another brand before this one and could not get it to work.

My DOCSIS 3.1 modem kept losing connection for 1 month so I replaced it with the CM1000. So far, so good. And compatible with my Netgear R8500 router. 🙂

My last DOCSIS 3.0 modem constantly cut out for no reason. The CM1000 has been extremely reliable in comparison and should last me a long time.
Gregorio Block (verified owner) –
getting DOCSIS 3.1, has noticeable increase in performance
