I was running xfinity voice modem which have only DOCSIS 3.0. their speed cap off at 250mb. Netgear model CM 1150v at the same DOCSIS 3.0 and maxed out at 312.6mb. Even without 3.1 it was significantly faster and stable. I needed a modem that has a phone modem and hard wire only so this was perfect for what I needed, as I have my own router. Speed on the router topped off nearly identical. It is a good investment when future speed requires a DOCSIS 3.1 as in my area waiting Comcast/xfinity to increase their speed.

I did call into NETGEAR support for set-up, they were prompt and were able to identify the issue of voice set-up, it was the carrier not the Modem. I called the carrier and was able to resolve the voice set-up. It has worked flawlessly since set up.

The Nighthawk modem is excellent. After pushing the wrong button, the startup got off track. It took 2hrs. To correct the issue, with incredible help from very patient and stubborn Netgear people in Honduras, The Philippines, and USA. For a period, the internet would drop out. Now all is well and I am quite happy with the modem. I am not seeing significant change in speed, but that is likely due to the house feed from Xfinity.

I only gave the cm1150v 2 stars because it did not stay connected and took hours for it to rebind to my ISP after a week of troubleshooting and having my line and booster replace the problem still existed Netgear blamed my ISP my ISP blamed Netgear and the issue was not resolved I was able to keep a stable connection on my older modem. I returned the cm1150v due to the connection issue. When it was working it was very fast but the connection diminished with time and required a reset after 24hrs of uptime. I do not have this issue with a replacement modem from a different manufacturer. I do not know if it was a hardware issue with the modem or just DOCIS 3.1 as my replacement is a 3.0
