I purchased when upgrading service and anticipation of getting new wifi6 router. I pre-ordered the eero Pro 6 and waited for everything to arrive. Hooked everything up and worked great for a week then modem would lose connection and need to be rebooted. Family is schooling and working from home, so need dependable access. I reverted back to older modem and have had no issues. Tried to research issue before switching and found many similar situations but found no clear path to resolve. Was going to return modem but 90 days had just passed. Now I want to resolve issue but don’t know how to fix modem while maintaining internet connection.

I had this for about a week before I gave up on it. The first problem was the WiFi would constantly drop…I am talking every 10 minutes or so on 2.4 and 5 GHz band. Next problem is the Ethernet connection was somehow slower than my old ISP provided router/modem combo. Last problem was the terrible smart connect feature which already made the bad router even worse with it dropping connections left and right.

The initial installation/activation when smoothly, however was surprised that only one of the ethernet ports is enabled on the Comcast System. The the WiFi router I paired with the Nighthawk modem did not work out so had to fall back to the Comcast modem till a replacement WiFi Router arrives. During the time the Nighthawk modem was activated on the Comcast System the voice worked great and did not have enough time to fully test the speed of the ethernet ports or WiFi router.

I like how the modem works, except that there are 4 ports on the back and only one works. You cannot plug anything else into the modem and get internet. So why have 4 ports. Its deceiving in that I thought I could hook up a couple other devices to the modem. Otherwise, I like the modem.

I am very disappointed about this CM1150V designed for XFINITY. I have attempted to link the second port to the R9000 – Nighthawk X10 AD7200 Smart WiFi Router and it doesn’t work. What a poor sales pitch–two Netgear devices can’t communicate and on top of it, the xfinity didn’t show any interest in fixing it. Wasted nearly $500. Bad deal.
