I purchased both a Netgear modem and router in hopes of getting faster speeds and better quality. After purchase, the next day I called Netgear for help with the installation of the equipment. After a lengthy amount of time working with Netgear folks, was told to contact my service provider. I called Comcast, explained the situation, worked with them for a lengthy amount of time, and they could not help. I spent about fives hours on the phone that day and became so frustrated, I packed both my Netgear modem and router and returned it to the store. As a 73 year old, I’m too old for this kind of aggravation. I cannot fault the equipment because it may be totally fine, but I never got the opportunity to find out.

I bought this because my Comcast modem/router was completely unreliable. I was having to do a hard reset at least once a week. The Netgear unit is perfect. It has not froze or gone down once since installation. Super easy to install. The hardest part was getting someone on the phone from Comcast who could activate it. Be aware that Comcast will not let you use the voice function for this modem. I bought a voice capable modem thinking I was going to be able to use it for my phone, and Comcast denied me access. Unfortunately I still have to use their unreliable phone modem.

This modem was so easy to set up and increased my speed 2x. The coverage is much better than my old one. I only rated it a 4 because I expected it to be higher. I suspect it is Infinity rather than the modem.
