Have Xfinity 1.2 gig service. Was using Motorola MB8600 and Asus Wi-Fi router. The most I was able to get over Wi-Fi was 520 when next to the wifi router. Xfinity service came out and verified that the modem was putting out over one gig. I changed to the Netgear 2.5 gig modem as I had added Xfinity voice and I am still using the ASUS Wi-Fi router. My average wifi download speed immediately increased 300 GB to over 700. No idea why but quite happy with the upgrade.

The Xfinity Tech came to install and he told me he will need a router with it to install it, otherwise, it won’t work and he has to use the one from Xfinity itself unless I want to use this alone with ethernet plugged it directlly. He showed me the back of this Nighthawk’s box that it says it needs a router

I have gigabit xfinity and there was n o way the modem could work. Spent around 12 hours in the phone with netgear and xfinity. Netgear said it was xfinity problem. Eventually I ended up using the xfinity gateway and it worked. I have returned and reordered a the modem to see if it was a defective device but am very disappointed
