This is exactly what I needed to replace my old outdated modem. I hit a small snag where xifnity couldnt register is because the mac address was still assigned to another customer in another region. They stated that this happens when Netgear recycles old mac addresses. I was concerned at first but it was sorted in under an hour on the phone with xfinity support.

I’ve used it only about a week, but it has not needed a reboot or any other maintenance. The Xfinity modem it replaced needed frequent reboots, and this one is much faster. My only complaint is that the installation did not go as smoothly as the instructions suggested, but Xfinity was able to help me get it going.

After working okay for a few months, starts dropping connection several times a week, sometimes daily. Replacing with another make modem after only six months. Not worth the money. Unfortunately, I can’t return it for credit as site says it’s not under warranty.

Netgear could have supplied a cat8 cable to connect the router to the modem instead of the cat5e standard cable as this could be a bottle neck to realize the full potential of this modem

This is an ideal Modem to replace the Xfinity one. I have a Netgear AX-120 Router which provides WIFi and DHCP. Using this modem means that Bridge Mode is not needed. There is one simple WAN connection to the Router. The Set-up menus are clear and installation was fast. If you have a separate Router, then this is a much better solution than buying a Modem/Router with WiFi where Bridge Mode must be implemented. Works great and DOCSIS 3.1 delivers GB download speeds.

Our condo floor plan is spread out and hard to configure a decent wifi system. Nighthawk delivers where other systems failed. Our ISP only offers 1 setup that is not for everyone. I tried Google Nest and it couldn’t provide a stable solution. Nighthawk rocks!

Returned my Arris modem and purchased CM2050V. My speed is better than before. I went from 175 Mbps to 200 Mbps. I would totally recommend this product. I only wished that there was a slot for backup Lithium battery for power outages. It is a voice modem (for telephone), after all.
