This modem is all it is hyped up to be. I changed to this modem and have had no problems since changing. Before changing i constantly lost signal and thought it was my internet provider. This modem is awesome! Super simple to install.

Restart takes a long time. Connecting becomes unstable after two months of use.
Orion Turcotte (verified owner) –
Affordable and just what I needed to upgrade for faster high speed internet. You won’t go wrong in choosing this product.

Got this so I could get the speeds up on my WiFi. I also got the new WiFi 6 Nighthawk. My ISP provides 120 Mbps and I am locked in on all my devices at 119-120. Even at the far end of the house.
Gail Walker (verified owner) –
Easy set up, basically, plug & play. Not too expensive and super fast!
Trent Farrell (verified owner) –
I’m new to owning a modem and so far I love it. It’s easy to use, easy to set up.
Elwyn Bechtelar (verified owner) –
The setup was easy and the support staff was very helpful.

My part of the Charter/Spectrum network recently went to 32/8 DOCSIS 3.0, so I replaced my previous CM600 with a CM700 – at present the highest capacity NETGEAR Cable Modem certified for use on the Charter/Spectrum network. Activation was simple and quick, and I consistently get about 15% better D/U speeds on my 400Mbps connection. A solid choice.

great product. it actually proved that my provider was not giving me the speeds i paid for.
Lucienne Doyle (verified owner) –
Excellent customer service allowed for a quick install which works flawlessly.

NETGEAR makes the best modems and routers in the market, good customer service too. I think their Nighthawk AC1900 is the best modem router in the market for the price.

TL:DR it won’t work with different ISPs. The point of buying your own modem is to avoid a rental, and freedom to change ISPs. Not with Netgear: it pushes different firmware for different ISPs, and wouldn’t let you update/roll back on your own, see: https://kb.netgear.com/000036375/What-s-the-latest-firmware-version-of-my-NETGEAR-cable-modem-or-modem-router?language=en_US The ISPs likewise won’t allow access (at least Spectrum and Cox won’t, don’t expect others are any better). Netgear support (the call center in India) didn’t have an answer as to why the company won’t allow customers access to firmware versions (direct opposite of their router FW policy), just sends you to ISP. ISPs say it’s your device, we can’t manage it, we’re not responsible for it. Apparently the issue is known to Cox techs, but both Cox and Netgear still advertise it as ‘certified for Cox’: https://www.cox.com/residential/support/cox-certified-cable-modems.html There are reports of the issue going back to 2019: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Cable-Modems-Routers/CM600-Spectrum-to-Cox-firmware-issue/td-p/1785354 Yet, they still advertise it as ‘certified for Cox, Comcast and Spectrum (and more)’. Buyer beware: if you don’t want to be locked in your ISP (or forced to buy a new modem every time you change ISP), avoid Netgear.

I recently upgraded from a standard modem that I have had for 5 years. Unbelievable difference immeditely. I am disappointed in myself that I didn’t get this sooner.

It was good to use, but very complex to setup. Once it got corrupted

I purchased both a Netgear modem and router. Both are working just fine, and there have been no problems with them.
