Turn your wireless network into a mesh system using the Netgear EAX20 AX1800 Dual-Band Wireless Mesh Extender. The EAX20 is designed to work with existing 802.11ax Wi-Fi routers to extend wireless coverage, transferring data at up to 1800 Mb/s over the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies. Upgrading from a traditional network to a mesh system creates a seamless, unified network that uses the same Wi-Fi network name (SSID) as you move from room to room throughout your home. Equipped with two powerful internal antennas, the EAX20 uses MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies to communicate with up to four devices simultaneously, helping to ensure reliable and fast connections for streaming 4K videos, playing online games, and more. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are available for connecting wired devices such as computers, video game consoles, smart TVs, and more.

I’m reading all these reviews and i didn’t read the manual. I did download it. I just took the ethernet cable and plugged it on the router (because i have winstream and it sucks) recognized it on the app, added the extender. Then put the nighthawk ext in the motorhome (which is at least 500 yards away) and connected the tv to my wifi network in the house.

Simple to set up and extends my internet to my backyard, which is exactly what I needed it for. The lights on the front are quite bright. That could be a plus or minus, depending on the room you’re using it in. I originally put it in my bedroom, but had to move it to another room because it was too bright.

I have set up routers over the years and they required a lot of coaxing to get to work the way I expected. This one was truly simple. The phone app walked me through the process and from unboxing to connecting it to the main router and the security cameras was less than 30 minutes. The range is excellent as I can walk well into my front or back yard and still have a strong signal.

This extender was very easy to set up. I live in a 2 story condo with a steel beam between the 1st and 2nd level for hurricane protection. My signal was bouncing all over the house. The EAX20 extender has greatly improved the consistency of my wifi signal throughout the entire house. Highly recommend!!!

Added this to my system because I had dead spots where devices were getting little to no signal. Not only did it fix the dead zones, but adds multiple Ethernet ports for direct connection. Lastly, it doesn’t have to create a second network. Everything seamlessly works under the same network name without the annoying switching back and forth between networks.

Easy to setup. It took a few attempts to get exactly what I wanted and a few more to experiment since you have plenty of options. I needed to twiddle with my phone a bit to not connect to the base router when I was near the extender after the initial setup. It all seems to work though I’m not always sure which device I am actually connected to. I guess it doesn’t matter because everything is working well. For the price I am very happy and have absolutely no complaints. This is a keeper.

Easy to set up, offered coverage in a house with many walls and broken up rooms. Prior, was slow to stream on devices, buffering and bandwidth issues. This did the trick for a very reasonable price.

Downloaded the Nighthawk app to help with installation. Setup was straightforward and I was up and running quickly. Now we’re running a seamless network with whole-house coverage. And no more “.EXT”.
Randi Konopelski (verified owner) –
The extender helped to create a network that is seen less in that it has the same name. None of the “ext-5G” etc type hassle. It’s streamlined into my one fiber optic network. Very happy.

This works great for extending out network into other rooms of the house where the wifi is spotty.

This product works well for extending xfinity WiFi through their proprietary router. My house is 2900 sq. ft.
Merl Fritsch (verified owner) –
I was able to get a strong wireless signal in a location where there was no signal before. I was also able to connect an Ethernet only device without having to run cables all thru the house.

I bought the NetGear EAX20 to extend my signal in a basement office. My biggest issue was with the WiFi service provider- once I contacted NetGear support – my setup went like lightening. The technician was well versed and we got the extender set up in no time. My laptop now shows full signal and Zoom calls don’t hesitate or stop on the middle of someone’s sentence or presentation. Simple to work and strong signal support!! thanks!!
