Turn your wireless network into a mesh system using the Netgear EAX20 AX1800 Dual-Band Wireless Mesh Extender. The EAX20 is designed to work with existing 802.11ax Wi-Fi routers to extend wireless coverage, transferring data at up to 1800 Mb/s over the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies. Upgrading from a traditional network to a mesh system creates a seamless, unified network that uses the same Wi-Fi network name (SSID) as you move from room to room throughout your home. Equipped with two powerful internal antennas, the EAX20 uses MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies to communicate with up to four devices simultaneously, helping to ensure reliable and fast connections for streaming 4K videos, playing online games, and more. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are available for connecting wired devices such as computers, video game consoles, smart TVs, and more.

I have a Netgear Nighthawk router in one home and a Netfesr Orbi in another home. I was able to install this Extender on both router network seamlessly without any issues. I used to buy several extenders and place them around both homes, but they were many different network around which was annoying when your disconnecting and reconnecting to another SSID just moving from room or floor. The Orbi was a great mesh router while I upgrade the other to a Nighthawk X6. I found this EAX20 can do what a Orbi satellite does for my Nighthawk with half the cost. Now without EXT or a different SSID, it’a great.

1. Website advertises 160MHz channel support. This is a false claim. 2. When Fastlane is enabled, the Nighthawk app is unable to communicate with the extender. 3. When a device is connected to the extender, sometimes the Nighthawk app shows the device only connected to the extender & sometimes the Nighthawk app shows the device as being connected to the router as well. I’m unsure what I should expect? 4. I have a problem staying connected to the extender. Intermittently, the extender will drop Wi-Fi devices. 5. I would recommend this extender for internet connections not greater than 300Mbps.

This router used as a range extender continuously disconnects from my network. Numerous resets and a firmware upgrade has not solved this problem. I do not recommend this router to anyone.
