Turn your wireless network into a mesh system using the Netgear EAX20 AX1800 Dual-Band Wireless Mesh Extender. The EAX20 is designed to work with existing 802.11ax Wi-Fi routers to extend wireless coverage, transferring data at up to 1800 Mb/s over the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies. Upgrading from a traditional network to a mesh system creates a seamless, unified network that uses the same Wi-Fi network name (SSID) as you move from room to room throughout your home. Equipped with two powerful internal antennas, the EAX20 uses MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies to communicate with up to four devices simultaneously, helping to ensure reliable and fast connections for streaming 4K videos, playing online games, and more. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are available for connecting wired devices such as computers, video game consoles, smart TVs, and more.

The EAX20 Extender exceeded my expectations. I was able to use it as an access point by turning off my router Wifi radios and use the EAX20. I centrally located my EAX20 using a Netgear Powerline 2000. I now have Wifi-6 5Ghz coverage throughout the house.

I use this unit as an access point. I like to know which unit I’m connected to, either this unit, or my router. I set up using my computer. Setup was quick and easy. After setup I tried to use the app, but after multiple attempts, the app couldn’t find the extender. My phone was on the extender, yet it couldn’t find it. I feel if I had setup using the app to start with, this would not be an issue. But the instructions hinted that if I was setting up as an access point, to use a computer. It really is not an issue, as I have not changed any settings since initial setup. This thing broadcasts all the way across the street in my neighbors house. I was setting up their new TV to Wi-Fi, and the TV found this unit and my router. So my whole 1450 square foot home has great coverage. I highly recommend this unit.

The Netgear wifi 6 mesh range extender was nice and it did improve my wifi. Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep it because I now have the Verizon tri-band system and therefore the dual band extender although it helped wouldn’t be able to utilize the tri-band capabilities.

I’ve used other brand wifi extenders and they don’t compare. I don’t have service where I live so when I go outside, if someone is trying to text me, I won’t get it. With the net gear extender, I have wifi down at my garage(for reference the garage is probably 800 or more feet from my house), none of the other extenders I’ve used have done that. I’m very happy with my purchase.
