The EAX20 is designed to work with existing 802.11ax Wi-Fi routers to extend wireless coverage, transferring data at up to 1800 Mb/s over the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies. Upgrading from a traditional network to a mesh system creates a seamless, unified network that uses the same Wi-Fi network name (SSID) as you move from room to room throughout your home. Equipped with two powerful internal antennas, the EAX20 uses MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies to communicate with up to four devices simultaneously, helping to ensure reliable and fast connections for streaming 4K videos, playing online games, and more. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are available for connecting wired devices such as computers, video game consoles, smart TVs, and more.

The mesh did increase the signal strength but the connectivity is not as good as I would hope. I actually had a different problem then I ever had without the mesh. I was hoping for an overall improvement.

I needed a device to connect my NVR for my security camera system and give a better WiFi connection down stories without running wires. The Netgear EAX20 was extremely easy to connect using the Netgear app to my nighthawk router it only took 5-10 minutes and a few clicks. Once connected I moved it down stairs and plugged it into my NVR and I have had an excellent connection ever since no issues at all streaming 8 4k cameras on it and it greatly improved the quality and coverage of my WiFi

This extender was a great choice. It was very simple to set up and only took a few minutes. It was not rocket science, just a few simple steps and it did the rest by itself. My old extender was old and was not dual band. I have a 3600 square foot one story home and my router is on one end of the home and I placed the Netgear WiFi 6 Mesh Extender in the middle of my home. It covers the rest of my home as well as my sunroom, where we spend a lot of time, and most of my back yard. I am very impressed with this extender to say the least. I pondered over several weeks to purchase a new extender. My decision of purchasing this extender over several different brands, including Linksys that I had been very loyal to in the past was not easy, but I am glad I chose this Netgear Extender over the competition. I have a lot of different devices connected to this extender, like TV’s, desktop computers, laptops, ipad, cell phones, several echo dots and guest that visit and never dropped a connection or diminished connection speed or strength. I highly recommend this extender.

Mesh extenders are the only way to go and this desktop model is simple and seamless to use. If you have dead or weak wifi spots in your house or yard, get one or two of these to pair with your router. The tech support is free when setting it all up and they know their stuff.

I was new to mesh range extenders and wasn’t sure which one would work with the router my fiber provider sent us. I ended up just getting this Netgear W6 extender and I’m super glad I did. The little wheel of death turned for a couple of minutes after typing in all my credentials, but after that it connected and then…. Bye-Bye dead zones! Super easy to setup. Even easier to maintain. The connections are super fast and we didn’t have to do anything to our other devices. They connect effortlessly walking around our house. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

I am very pleased with this unit. I am using it as an access point, and the speeds are amazing. My ISP is supposed to top me out at 600Mbps, but on my iPhone wirelessly I am getting 684Mbps. Through Ethernet on a Windows 7 laptop, I get just under 600Mbps. I installed using my laptop, but I recommend using the app. I didn’t have any issues, but the app can’t find the extender. I suspect that if I’d used the app to install, this wouldn’t be an issue. That is my only complaint. Love this thing.
