Enhance your 802.11ax Wi-Fi coverage by using the Netgear EAX80 Nighthawk AX8 Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender to create a mesh network. The Nighthawk AX8 has four internal antennas and works with your existing router by using the same network name (SSID), allowing for seamless switching between devices as you move without having to disconnect and reconnect to the wireless network. Compatible devices can reach speeds of up to 1.2 Gb/s using the 2.4 GHz band and 4.8 Gb/s across the 5 GHz band, allowing for reliable high-speed connections for streaming 4K video, playing games, connecting smart home devices, and more throughout your home. OFDMA technology allows for optimized data transmission for up to eight devices at the same time while four-stream MU-MIMO support enables up to four 1 x 1 devices to stream content simultaneously.
For those who haven’t upgraded yet, this range extender supports previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are also available to connect wired devices such as smart televisions, computers, and video game consoles. There is also a USB 3.0 port to connect compatible storage drives and share photos, videos, documents, and other files across the network. Downloading the Nighthawk mobile app allows you to configure the Nighthawk AX8’s settings.

What a difference! I am still connected on the far end of our property…on a 1/2 acre lot!

It is a good product the range it has works very well, I only wish I was able to have the ability to toggle what devices I want connected to my extender through the nighthawk app. All in all a great product.

I have a great review for what the Nighthawk does. However the setup is a little confusing. I thought I had done all as instructed (and I had.) But then could not find the new extender on my choices for connection. It does not state anywhere that it will pick up the name of the original router. Therefore I thought something was wrong and had to call support. I spoke to the tech and we figured out about 20 minutes later i was all set. Might be good to put that in the instructions. The unit itself has performed flawlessly.

After some trial and error, new mesh is working well. Suggest to setup on laptop using mywifinet.local instead of using app

This extender have a problem negociating local ip with the router. dhcp doesn’t work in a extended wifi setup with same SSID. You have to manually enter the network settings on your computer otherwise no ip… even if it’s work, it’s laggy. no advanced network customization. I may consider to use it as an AP.

Setup was pretty easy, but for the first day I probably had to start and restart both my router and the extender several times. Made me a little concerned. But now it’s seamless and works great!

Since I set up the NETGEAR Nighthawk Mesh Range Extender, no matter where we are in the house, we are getting a clear, strong WiFi signal. I could not have ask for better.

This would be five stars if it had a hardwire port to connect from your main router to the mesh extender!

This is an independent senior living facility. Residents will now be able to access Wi-Fi in our common areas

Easy set up with my Netgear R8500. Up and running in under 10 minutes. My house had dead spots due to 8 inch brick walls between original house and new addition. The EAX80 solved the problem. Great coverage in new addition and basement now. Definitely recommend it.

My router is old .. therefore I need a new router. I know it will work better. But when I first set it up it did great!!

I had moved to an apartment about a year ago and the internet wasn’t bad BUT I could barely get the signal. After much research I went with the EAX80 because I liked the 4 ethernet ports. It was perfect for my Playstation, PC, and MCell tower for cell service. The difference is NIGHT and DAY and feels like I’m connected directly to the landlords router. Love this device and will gladly use it at the next apartment if needed

It definitely helps on the other side of the house where the signal is weaker

We had problems on weak wifi at one end of the house. Got this extender and gained signal strength.

I keep hoping an upgrade will make this expensive mistake resolve itself. I’ve spent hours with the app and the web installer… Tomorrow I’m back with starting the day paper clip resetting the system and hoping it might actually work. I have three of these and the only one that partially functions as an extender sitting 20 feet from the RAX200 router. It has never worked as advertised. My old Orbi system was faster and more reliable. Thankfully the router works as a stand-alone device but even as the top of the line product, it needs extenders to get coverage. The system just doesn’t work.

This is a great product. I use it in my house because I wasn’t able to get Wi-Fi in my room and now I’m able to get Wi-Fi and I have Ethernet so I can fully use my Wi-Fi

this has definitely improved our reception in areas of the house where previously there was little or no signal. really pleased with it.
