Enhance your 802.11ax Wi-Fi coverage by using the Netgear EAX80 Nighthawk AX8 Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender to create a mesh network. The Nighthawk AX8 has four internal antennas and works with your existing router by using the same network name (SSID), allowing for seamless switching between devices as you move without having to disconnect and reconnect to the wireless network. Compatible devices can reach speeds of up to 1.2 Gb/s using the 2.4 GHz band and 4.8 Gb/s across the 5 GHz band, allowing for reliable high-speed connections for streaming 4K video, playing games, connecting smart home devices, and more throughout your home. OFDMA technology allows for optimized data transmission for up to eight devices at the same time while four-stream MU-MIMO support enables up to four 1 x 1 devices to stream content simultaneously.
For those who haven’t upgraded yet, this range extender supports previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are also available to connect wired devices such as smart televisions, computers, and video game consoles. There is also a USB 3.0 port to connect compatible storage drives and share photos, videos, documents, and other files across the network. Downloading the Nighthawk mobile app allows you to configure the Nighthawk AX8’s settings.

Purchased this product to extend our ax12 router for the front part of our house. We had the ax12 for a couple of weeks and it was blazing fast, but one of our nest cams at the furthest corner of the house kept dropping intermittently, so we added the ax8 extender to remedy. Upon installation, we were plagued with speeds in the 25mbps range from our previously 350 range on our iPhones and wireless devices. For the life of me I could not figure out the problem until I went on the forums and found someone who had a similar experience. I connected the ax8 wirelessly and would have preferred a hard connection, but the instructions didn’t necessarily differentiate that extender vs access point configuration would lead to slowdown of wireless. I wish the instructions for installation would have had a disclaimer that stated “using this product as an extender will result in slower WiFi speeds and connectivity issues; for optimal performance, configure as a wired access point.” Now that we have our ax8 reconfigured as an AP, we are back to blazing fast speeds!

Short answer the EAX80 is not working. blocks all WIFI connections when plugged into an AC outlet

Purchased as I was getting poor performance from my WiFi downstairs whilst streaming Netflix on smart tv. Initially had problems installing using the app on my Android phone. Resolved this by resetting the extender. However moved extender as recommended in manual now cannot connect with the app so who knows if it works, I can see the Eax80 is connected in my routers connected devices. App does not work, it should be simple but has been painful, rubbish product and apps.
