Enhance your 802.11ax Wi-Fi coverage by using the Netgear EAX80 Nighthawk AX8 Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender to create a mesh network. The Nighthawk AX8 has four internal antennas and works with your existing router by using the same network name (SSID), allowing for seamless switching between devices as you move without having to disconnect and reconnect to the wireless network. Compatible devices can reach speeds of up to 1.2 Gb/s using the 2.4 GHz band and 4.8 Gb/s across the 5 GHz band, allowing for reliable high-speed connections for streaming 4K video, playing games, connecting smart home devices, and more throughout your home. OFDMA technology allows for optimized data transmission for up to eight devices at the same time while four-stream MU-MIMO support enables up to four 1 x 1 devices to stream content simultaneously.
For those who haven’t upgraded yet, this range extender supports previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are also available to connect wired devices such as smart televisions, computers, and video game consoles. There is also a USB 3.0 port to connect compatible storage drives and share photos, videos, documents, and other files across the network. Downloading the Nighthawk mobile app allows you to configure the Nighthawk AX8’s settings.

After a few initial hiccups, the Netgear Tech team assisted me in completing my mesh network setup..this included an RAX80 router and an EAX80 mesh extender. I now have strong wifi in all areas of my 3000 sq ft 2 story home (and when we finish the basement and add another 800 sq ft/3rd level of living space we will be adding another EAX80 mesh extender to juice the wifi of that new space as well. Quality products (along with a non discussed Powerline adaptor in use as well) with as advertised performance and I am fully satisfied with my decision to go with Netgear for my home wifi needs. Love the range and mesh network technology; one hiccup, for no apparent reason both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands had the same name as 5 GHz, hence some of my devices lost connection. Finally opened the Netgear app to realize the issue and corrected the name issue.

Switching between WiFi networks in your home or workplace is such a drag. The EAX80 resolves all that drama. I set mine up as an access point and the performance is astounding. The only element preventing a five star review is that the access point setup was bumpy. Now that it is configured, it is working amazingly well. Highly recommend.

The EAX80 has been a great addition to my AX6000, I did not need the wireless coverage but the ability to “hardwire” into the extender in order to minimize wireless cluttering was a no brainer, not only it helps with cluttering but the speeds when harwire into the extender are very fast.

I have been using EAX80 for about two weeks and been experiencing a lot of issues. After couple days uptime 5G connection is not available or even broadcasted. 2.5G speed broadcast from extender right, measured in front of device, is significantly lower than direct router broadcast from same location. Cannot debug as I do not see logs to access.
