Enhance your 802.11ax Wi-Fi coverage by using the Netgear EAX80 Nighthawk AX8 Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender to create a mesh network. The Nighthawk AX8 has four internal antennas and works with your existing router by using the same network name (SSID), allowing for seamless switching between devices as you move without having to disconnect and reconnect to the wireless network. Compatible devices can reach speeds of up to 1.2 Gb/s using the 2.4 GHz band and 4.8 Gb/s across the 5 GHz band, allowing for reliable high-speed connections for streaming 4K video, playing games, connecting smart home devices, and more throughout your home. OFDMA technology allows for optimized data transmission for up to eight devices at the same time while four-stream MU-MIMO support enables up to four 1 x 1 devices to stream content simultaneously.
For those who haven’t upgraded yet, this range extender supports previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are also available to connect wired devices such as smart televisions, computers, and video game consoles. There is also a USB 3.0 port to connect compatible storage drives and share photos, videos, documents, and other files across the network. Downloading the Nighthawk mobile app allows you to configure the Nighthawk AX8’s settings.

Just bought it after speaking with support on the best extender to go with Nighthawk X10 R9000 Router. Have spent the last 2 days trying to connect it to my WiFi network. Did everything pre the set up guide, the internet tutorials, set up support order and spoke with person I could hardly understand. Finally got it to show up on my WiFi network. Got it connected once, then it kicked off. Now back to trying to reset it and trying it all again tomorrow. Very frustrating.

This ranger extender had a very quick and easy set up especially with the Nighthawk app. There is really only the extender and plug in the box so there is very little possibility of messing up. My only issue, and why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that I originally was going to try to connect using WPS but I could not find the button for it anywhere. I only found the button after I had completed setup using the app and then the button lit up and I was able to see it clearly.

The EAX80 has amazing range and speed. The one thing I like the most is that it gives me the ability to plug my computer directly to the extender. I am not a big tech person and this is why I think the installation instructions can be a bit better. Other than that it is amazing. Money well spent!

I want to get give it a higher rating but I went out of town and now that I’ve come back no matter what I do I can’t tell if it’s working and even when I reset it it won’t reconfigure and it’s not bringing up the extender setting anymore even though it shows everything looking like it’s working. Because of this and the difficulty I’m having with the Nighthawk app I currently cannot give a higher review…
