Enhance your 802.11ax Wi-Fi coverage by using the Netgear EAX80 Nighthawk AX8 Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender to create a mesh network. The Nighthawk AX8 has four internal antennas and works with your existing router by using the same network name (SSID), allowing for seamless switching between devices as you move without having to disconnect and reconnect to the wireless network. Compatible devices can reach speeds of up to 1.2 Gb/s using the 2.4 GHz band and 4.8 Gb/s across the 5 GHz band, allowing for reliable high-speed connections for streaming 4K video, playing games, connecting smart home devices, and more throughout your home. OFDMA technology allows for optimized data transmission for up to eight devices at the same time while four-stream MU-MIMO support enables up to four 1 x 1 devices to stream content simultaneously.
For those who haven’t upgraded yet, this range extender supports previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are also available to connect wired devices such as smart televisions, computers, and video game consoles. There is also a USB 3.0 port to connect compatible storage drives and share photos, videos, documents, and other files across the network. Downloading the Nighthawk mobile app allows you to configure the Nighthawk AX8’s settings.

We have fast fiber Ethernet to the house. We needed a faster router that works with the faster Ethernet to give us optimum throughput

So easy to set-up and running in just a few minutes. I had a different brand extender that repeatedly dropped connection. Replaced it with this Netgear extender (EAX80) and no more dropped connections. I learn from my mistakes and now know to stick with Netgear products.

The extender mac address does match when looking for it in the router (nighthawk ax12). The range is weak not even half my gigabit internet. disappointed.

I replaced this for the EX8000, which stopped working in me. The EAX80 s good product, doing what it is designed for. The set up by the nighthawk app is little bit hard – I had to reset the unit to factory setting twice in order to complete the set up successfully. Let’s se how long this unit will last. My old one, EX8000 just lasted 2 years.

I now have strong wifi on both floors. Should have done this a long time ago. Good for smart home and 4k streaming.

The EAX80 worked great when installed to replace a 9 year old device. Interruptions in streaming services were eliminated! (Finally!) The way this device integrates with the phone app is a tremendous perk! it allows you to monitor your wireless devices and system quite easily. Highly recommend it!

Simple instructions and easy to set up. Eliminated all poor reception areas on my 2500 sf second floor without a problem. Prior to buying the Nighthawk Extender I tried less expensive extenders that did not work or gave me a weak WiFi signal.

My cable router is in the upstairs bedroom so I needed a mesh extender for the rest of my house downstairs. The mesh 6 is working great!

My 2-month old Gryphon AX was shutting down once a week, with no clear reason why. Did some research, found the EAX80 and decided to give it a try. Literally, plug it in and it works…and still works. Zero issues. Fast wireless signal off AT

I believed the ads and tried pairing with my Nighthawk AX-12 repeatedly. Finally had to cut the power and make it a bookend. Not ready for prime time.

This is a very handy unit that looks great and works well. I paired the extender with a Nighthawk AX12 for full coverage of my large two-story home. The Nighthawk is downstairs at one end of the house and the extender is upstairs at the other end. I’m using it as a range extender and not a hot spot. I have been using Netgear routers and switches for years now and the software just keeps getting better. Configuration is intuitive and as simple or complex as you like. I used the Smart Connect feature which really simplified things but requires a little more thought if you need to directly access the extender during troubleshooting; use the provided link in the downloadable instructions and you’re home free. The coverage is excellent and now all devices, phones, tablets, and computers have a strong signal. REALLY strong and blazing fast at 5G. The only minor issue I encountered was also mentioned in other reviews. Even though I immediately updated the firmware during installation, for about the first two weeks it went through a period of stabilizing where it would momentarily lose connection with the Nighthawk for a few seconds each day. It never dropped any devices and we wouldn’t have noticed had I not been nearby and noticed the uplink light turn red. However, as reported by other users, this cleared up after about two weeks and it’s been rock solid ever since. Perhaps it was building routing tables or something like that. Finally, I’ve never had a single Netgear device fail so expect it to last until the technology is obsolete. Highly recommended!

Have Ps5 up in loft and I had a small WiFi extender at first but the game kept lagging. So I searched the internet on which one is good and the netgear was one of them. I then got the netgear and have no issues with the Ps5 lagging.
