Enhance your 802.11ax Wi-Fi coverage by using the Netgear EAX80 Nighthawk AX8 Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender to create a mesh network. The Nighthawk AX8 has four internal antennas and works with your existing router by using the same network name (SSID), allowing for seamless switching between devices as you move without having to disconnect and reconnect to the wireless network. Compatible devices can reach speeds of up to 1.2 Gb/s using the 2.4 GHz band and 4.8 Gb/s across the 5 GHz band, allowing for reliable high-speed connections for streaming 4K video, playing games, connecting smart home devices, and more throughout your home. OFDMA technology allows for optimized data transmission for up to eight devices at the same time while four-stream MU-MIMO support enables up to four 1 x 1 devices to stream content simultaneously.
For those who haven’t upgraded yet, this range extender supports previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports are also available to connect wired devices such as smart televisions, computers, and video game consoles. There is also a USB 3.0 port to connect compatible storage drives and share photos, videos, documents, and other files across the network. Downloading the Nighthawk mobile app allows you to configure the Nighthawk AX8’s settings.

I purchased several other extenders prior to the NetGear. Let me tell you, I wish I would have purchased this first! Setup was so easy. I followed along with the guided setup via the app. Once setup I moved it to my desired location in my home. We can now connect our phones, stream, and run our laptops in EVERY room of the house. Before we would drop calls, buffer, be unable to connect in our office. I highly recommend this extender.

NETGEAR’s Nighthawk WiFi Extender EAX80 has been an excellent addition. For years, I have struggled with poor signals in the room that I initially wanted to turn into an office. I tried a number of devices, but none seemed to keep a steady internet connection so I had to settle putting my office elsewhere. With NETGEAR’s EAX80 Extender, I am not only able to connect in this dead WiFi zone, but I am also able to enjoy fast internet speeds that not only allow me to work comfortably, but also enhances the area with additional connectivity for my household’s various mobile devices. Installing the EAX80 Extender was also quick and convenient using NETGER’s app on my smartphone. Compared to the cost of what a typical internet service provider charges you to provide you with panoramic WiFi service, I also found the EAX80 Extender to be considerably affordable.

Written instructions with the device were inadequate to set it up. However, the Netgear tech rep was excellent. His tech knowledge and customer skills were very good. I also now know how to make changes to it if needed.

My second attempt of setup has been stable so far. Fast. Initially setup, indicators all white. Moved to another room, white. Sometime later, turned amber. Moved back to room with wifi router. Showed amber yet less than 8 feet away, no obstructions. After connecting with nighthawk app and reconfigure, moved to same room as before and has been solid for several days.

This works great when it’s about 60-100 ft away. In larger home it drops pretty quick after that. I was getting about 250 mbps and then only 62 mbps in the room that I needed that was only another 20 ft away.
