First one I bought lost modem signal repeatedly; B&H sent replacement immediately. Set up worked well first time; second unit did not respond to http://www.mywifiext.net but did respond to URL in digits (supplied by helpful Netgear assistance). NOTE: a scam phone number appeared while I looked for a Netgear help number on their website – to get Netgear help you have to set up an account. Once set up the product has worked well, but it needs to be closer to the modem than I had expected.

Returned the device. The throughput of the range extender was insufficient for video conferencing, and the Wired AP mode completely failed – no internet connectivity.

The only reason not five stars is due to having some connection issues. I thought it was user error at first but when the issue persisted I discovered the fast lane feature works amazingly well when only used by a single end device.

In my area the Cable signal can sometimes be quite weak. Naturally our router has Wireless capability, but we have multiple Components- iPhone’s, Desktops, Laptops and printers all on the same wireless circuit. Enough said I, and hunted for some kind of stabilizer device that would split the LAN network. I found this device that communicates through my Generation 4 Apple TV module, adjusted settings and now having THREE circuits I routed all devises noted above through separate wireless Frequencies. I can now watch Sky News from London with no noisy picture and currently note I have FULL WiFi bars on this device which were previously perhaps three bars – so objective reached. This small ‘ plug and play’ (or Ethernet) unit has exceeded my intentions. Thank you Netgear
