I purchased this dual band extender to get signal to the 2nd floor in my house. I have a Nighthawk R7000 Router on the first floor. I dont understand ANY bad reviews on this product. If you follow the installation instructions you should have no issues. I now have super strong signal strength on both the 2.4g

This is the best extender I’ve had and I’ve had a few. I need a new one, this one is old. I’m thinking of getting the same one again. I would get a different one but I’m afraid it may not stand up to this one.

Works. Was able to set it up with the same name as my router for seamless transitioning for my devices. I think I would prefer the power brick be separate though, it does run a bit warm.

Boosts our signal better from the downstairs to the upstairs. Confusing (but doable) setup-all…of our devices are suddenly on the same channel. Don’t do it during the busiest part of your family’s learning/working from home day. It was cost efficient compared to the wireless router.

I have a full 1GB wired network in my home. All I wanted is to use my one laptop on wireless just when I was in the garage and back patio. I do not have an Ethernet cable there. The directions seemed easy enough but no matter what I tried it would not connect to my router which is a Netgear router. After calling the support line I spent over an hour and a half with a live person. We got it to connect but the speed was barely 35 MBs. So as instructed I moved the extender to another location. Well it would not connect and I had to go completely through the set up procedure again. Every time I unplugged this extender it would not connect. A second call to the support people, wanted me to allow them to control my computer remotely, which will never happen. Finally I was told that my NETGEAR router probably wasn’t compatible with the NETGEAR extender. So it got returned.
