With enhanced 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology, the EX7000 AC1900 Nighthawk Wi-Fi Range Extender from NETGEAR supports wireless data transfer rates of up to 1900Mbps. In addition to 802.11ac technology, this range extender also supports 802.11a/b/g/n networking standards so you can connect nearly any Wi-Fi enabled device to the network. With dual band functionality, you can allocate tasks such as email and web browsing to the 2.4GHz frequency leaving the less congested 5GHz frequency for more bandwidth intensive jobs such as streaming multimedia content, gaming, and more. The EX7000 sports three external antennas for maximum wireless coverage as well as five Gigabit Ethernet ports for a range of network connection options. You can even connect USB compatible peripherals such as hard drives and printers to your network via the integrated USB 3.0 port located on the back of the range extender.

This gave me the ability to use my wifi throughout the house and outside. I have my desktop wired to ot and its lightening fast. All my home automation works flawless. The only issue I had was I used the same SSID as my modem and one phone had trouble staying connected. Once I changed the modem to a different SSID, the problem was resolved.

This extender was responsible for strengthening my connection and making my WiFi experience much better. I was able to achieve download speeds at 200mbps with the extended whereas before I was only getting 20-25 mbps if I was lucky! This thing is a life saver, couldn’t recommend it anymore. The set up is extremely simple, even comes with a set of instructions for the novice users. Netgear nails it out the park once again!

The installation of the EX7000 was straight forward. It took care of the dead spots in my house and provided a seamless operation with my R6400 wireless router. The mesh technology allows me to move freely between the downstairs and the upstairs without having to switch between networks. The increase in bandwidth is very noticeable and beneficial. Smooth operation all around. Very happy with the purchase.

Purchased said item around 90 days ago and it hasn’t worked as depicted the entire time. Quite honestly the only thing that redeemed the purchase is the customer service that accommodated me trying to get it replaced. So I currently am waiting to get my replacement and we’ll see how it works.

I bought this because I needed a wired connection in another room, and did not want to run wires. Since it is wireless AC, it connects almost as fast as a wired connection. It does extend the wireless also, but I actually did not need that. It has a feature where it uses 5GHZ for the router connection (AC), and 2.4GHZ for the extended wifi connection to achieve faster performance, and it is very very fast.
