With enhanced 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology, the EX7000 AC1900 Nighthawk Wi-Fi Range Extender from NETGEAR supports wireless data transfer rates of up to 1900Mbps. In addition to 802.11ac technology, this range extender also supports 802.11a/b/g/n networking standards so you can connect nearly any Wi-Fi enabled device to the network. With dual band functionality, you can allocate tasks such as email and web browsing to the 2.4GHz frequency leaving the less congested 5GHz frequency for more bandwidth intensive jobs such as streaming multimedia content, gaming, and more. The EX7000 sports three external antennas for maximum wireless coverage as well as five Gigabit Ethernet ports for a range of network connection options. You can even connect USB compatible peripherals such as hard drives and printers to your network via the integrated USB 3.0 port located on the back of the range extender.

I have 500MB internet service through Spectrum. I also have 14 smart devices scattered about a 3000sq ft residence requiring Wi-Fi connections. To assist this demand, I purchased the Netgear AC 1900 for the purpose of extending Wi-Fi in support these devices Unfortunately the AC1900 frequently dropped signal from the access point. To mitigate this recurring problem, I replaced the access point with new equipment. I meticulously reset and installed both access point and Netgear AC 1900 in extender in correct sequence. Unfortunately the same issue of dropped signal from router continued. Of particular note is that when speed tested, far end results were significantly less with th AC1900 than with the unit connected. Therefore due to the unreliable connection and mostly due to decreased throughput, I disconnected the unit permanently.

It was difficult to get the website to set it up to pop up. But once it came up it only gave me the option to use both 2g and 5g together and now the thing only lights up 5g. It works good though. I dont think it reaches as far as it says.

Once I installed the Nighthawk WiFi ranger extender, my entire house was covered and I was pushing over 1000MBPS to spots I was barely getting a signal before. I plan on buying another for my basement for insurance my coverage will be complete.

Bought this extender because I upgraded my router. We have trouble in both the bedrooms with the signals not being a to permeate the walls. The AC1900 has definitely done the trick. It has an intuitive setup. It blends in well for those worried about theirs being seen. It is reasonably priced for those who are budget conscious. It is definitely a nice upgrade from my previous Netgear extender.

I decided to purchase this router because I was getting a new desktop PC and printer and liked the features plus I wanted a router I could mount on the wall. Super easy to install. Although it is substantially larger than my old router, I’m getting a much stronger signal than my old router so I’m very happy. Only issue I have is the display lights are white and very bright so don’t install in a bedroom unless you like a very bright nightlight that flashes!
