With enhanced 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology, the EX7000 AC1900 Nighthawk Wi-Fi Range Extender from NETGEAR supports wireless data transfer rates of up to 1900Mbps. In addition to 802.11ac technology, this range extender also supports 802.11a/b/g/n networking standards so you can connect nearly any Wi-Fi enabled device to the network. With dual band functionality, you can allocate tasks such as email and web browsing to the 2.4GHz frequency leaving the less congested 5GHz frequency for more bandwidth intensive jobs such as streaming multimedia content, gaming, and more. The EX7000 sports three external antennas for maximum wireless coverage as well as five Gigabit Ethernet ports for a range of network connection options. You can even connect USB compatible peripherals such as hard drives and printers to your network via the integrated USB 3.0 port located on the back of the range extender.

I had a range extender but it was a sorry excuse for an extender. I could not receive signals from some of my cameras outside. Once I cranked up my Netgear Mesh Extender, they all came on clear as day. The cameras were outside around my house. No moving the Netgear Mesh extender to the best place in the house. It worked from wherever I put it! Yea, Netgear !!

The extender provides excellent consistent Wi-Fi coverage of my house. The instructions leave a little to be desired as they do not lay out all possibilities what may need to be done in order to mate up the router and extender.

A couple peices of my entertainment system did not have wi-fi so I purchased the AC1900 to give them access. What I discovered that all my entertainment system peices that connected to the wi-fi performed 10 tiems better using the AC1900 instead of their native wi-fi. I highly recomend this product, it has surpassed my expectations and I love its ease of use and setup. As a 25+ year IT engineer, I can tell you that this was a rock solid purchase I’d do again in a heart beat.

This is not a mesh network device. It is just an extender. When I tested my speed on and off the extender, in the same location, it was 50% slower. That means I get a better internet connection without this device than with it.

Works great. Needs to install with a different name than the original wifi router. Having the same name makes it difficult to know if the extender is installed. Happy with purchase other than that.
