With enhanced 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology, the EX7000 AC1900 Nighthawk Wi-Fi Range Extender from NETGEAR supports wireless data transfer rates of up to 1900Mbps. In addition to 802.11ac technology, this range extender also supports 802.11a/b/g/n networking standards so you can connect nearly any Wi-Fi enabled device to the network. With dual band functionality, you can allocate tasks such as email and web browsing to the 2.4GHz frequency leaving the less congested 5GHz frequency for more bandwidth intensive jobs such as streaming multimedia content, gaming, and more. The EX7000 sports three external antennas for maximum wireless coverage as well as five Gigabit Ethernet ports for a range of network connection options. You can even connect USB compatible peripherals such as hard drives and printers to your network via the integrated USB 3.0 port located on the back of the range extender.

i have a wifi extender mounted on the outside of a work shop. the problem was the steel building made it hard to get a good signal inside of my shop. A friend had NETGEAR extender in his garage so I thought i would give it a try. Just what I needed and the fact I can choose 2.4 or 5.0 is great for wifi cameras I use.

My first one was faulty and the tech support (free of charge) walked me through all the possible issues. After we determined it was likely the unit, they sent me a new one to try and now everything works great. Strong single, covers a lot of area. Using as access point for essentially a mesh Wi-Fi system.

I used the WPS buttons on the extender and my router (RAX120) to get it connected. Once connected, I inserted an Ethernet cable from a computer and logged in. Upon logging in, I was prompted to update the firmware. I did that and it went smoothly. Then, I looked at the default settings. The extender had taken on my routers SSID and password. Sweet. One SSID means one contiguous network. Then I took the extender directly into my dead space and plugged it in. To my amazement, it had a full strength signal. Wow. Mission accomplished! I surveyed signal strength and download speed throughout the house. The signals were strong and the speeds were all good. The only caveat I could find is one of my devices (an Android) was sluggish to switch back and forth between the router and extender as I moved it about in the house. Even so, the download performance was still good. A Win10 tablet and two Win10 laptops I tested all work flawlessly. All in all, I am very happy with this device.

More detailed instruction sheet would have made the install more enjoyable May be a very large red sticker on the product case with the web site on it…Also have some one that has no association with the specs of the product or involved on the product team install a unit according to what is in the box.
