The mesh extender is working well. The suggestion that I have is to put a few more details in the directions. I was actually connected to the mesh, but the ext names did not show. So I kept resetting the mesh. Then I finally read documentation on line that told me how to separate the ext Wi-Fi. Please add additional info to future directions.

My family and I recently made the move from the big city to the suburbs into our new home. The two car garage was converted into what we call our ” family studio playground”. Our router is connected in the family room and works great for entire home but we quickly realized our new space had very poor connection for all our devices, TV, Alexa ,security system , etc.. Our family is very tech savvy and we have 6 devices that need WiFi. It was so simple to install , instructions actually maxed sense ( I might be tech savvy but at times some devices have very complicated instructions). WOW! After quick set up I ran a speed Check test with app I downloaded . This Netgear device has app ( This is my favorite feature ) that allows you to check speeds, manage devices , and more. To my surprise the Netgear speed test vs. the other app speed test results matched! Now our Family Studio Playground has “According to app extremely fast ” connection and we can watch our 4K movies, play online games and use our iPads . I highly recommend this product to anyone who has slow or poor WiFi connection in the rooms in your home.

The RSSI on my outdoor Ring Doorbell went from -61 to -43 after installing the NETGEAR Extender. It works great! Ratings: -30 dBm isAMAZING Max achievable signal strength. The client can only be a few feet from the AP to achieve this. -67 dBm is VERY GOOD Minimum signal strength for applications that require very reliable, timely delivery of data packets such as VoIP/VoWiFi, streaming video. -70 dBm is OKAY Minimum signal strength for reliable packet delivery such as Email, web. -80 dBm is NOT GOOD Minimum signal strength for basic connectivity. Packet delivery may be unreliable.-90 dBmUNUSABLE Approaching or drowning in the noise floor. Any functionality is highly unlikely.

My router could not reach my outside studio. When I installed the AC2200 range extender, which was easy to do, the problem went away.

I have the Nighthawk X4 AC2200 WiFi extender for about a week now. I’m really impress with the quality of signal I get now. I actually disconnected my internet carrier access point I use to have through them and added the Nighthawk instead. Best decision I have ever made!

Ambrose Bayer (verified owner) –
It took a while to initialize the unit (it did most of the work itself, but it took a while) but it appears to work fine, definitely much better than the extender I was using before.

I purchased this to extend our signal to our “out-building” home gym. It is about 20 meters from the house, and this has worked well so far. We are getting a strong signal from the 2.4 ghz band. I would recommend it
