This is a great router. it does exactly what it says it does. however, it does not come with a Rack mounting. What they consider a Rack Mounting kit is really two Screws and two small plastic type anchors to push into your wall. Not really a Rack Mounting Kit.

What a nightmare getting it working. I had to download some software from Netgear to even talk to it. Then I could update the Firmware to the latest version. After the firmware update I could actually use my browser to communicate with the Switch. Don’t listen to the advertising hype that doesn’t tell you about the firmware update before you can use your browser.

I purchased this to replace/upgrade older Netgear network switches in my house. Setup was a breeze using the ProSafe pro and web interface. I have two of the 8-port switches as hubs and several of the 5-port as end units behind computers and entertainment systems. I flashed the firmware, and the new switches immediately found all the others and my entire network is gigabit and totally stable! Really REALLY fast also – I have fiber optic to the street and we can stream and game forever! Great job Netgear!

Netgear switches have never let me down. These semi-managed switches are great for a little more control on your network. The web interface is easy to use and get information from. Speeds are fast as expected and it auto shuts down ports as needed. Solid build.

These switches are great for applications where you need something more than an unmanaged switch, but more than nothing. I choose these when I need port mirroring for security monitoring and nothing else.

no issues so far – seems to be reliable
