It appears to be very well made and does what it is made for with no problems so far. My experience with Netgear products has been very good and this little switch is working perfectly so far.

This is my second Netgear switch my first one is 5 years old still working. I’ve only had ProSafe 8-Port Switch for a week now does everything I need it too right out of the box.

I bought this switch many, many months ago. It has been rock solid dependable and has never had even the smallest of a hiccup, 100% flawless! A little background, this switch sits between my Pfsense firewall / dual-WAN gateway, and the rest of my network. I was looking to solve several problems with several different devices but ended up using this switch to do everything and I couldn’t be happier! For one I wanted some type of sensor for Wireshark that would allow me to do packet captures of all network traffic. The port mirroring function made that as easy as a few clicks. For another I was looking to provide some basic level of QoS on the network as we run IP phones, video surveillance cameras, three web servers, two FTP servers, and two remote access DVR’s and I wanted to make sure that the traffic from the phones would have top priority in order to keep calls clear and dropout free! That was a beautiful plan and this Netgear plus switch more than admirably handles the job. Phone calls are crisp, clear, consistent without any detectable dropouts, ever! On top of the amazing SIP performance, the IP cam streams have been amazing with very minimal stuttering or loss of frame rate. This switch has four other Netgear switches connected to it and it forms the core backbone interconnecting the entire rack of equipment. It’s a beautiful thing. Hence the five-star rating I give it! Thank you, Netgear, you all are my mainstay and the brand I always recommend. The only disappointment is I wish that you sold stickers with your name or logo on them I would buy them to put on my laptop and my toolboxes!

I use these switches for Ubiquiti Access Points and IP Camera implementations. Keeps the power supplies to a minimum and a clean installation for Poe devices. Definitely my go to switch when I need poe.

Best cost effective solution we found to handle a couple of PoE VoIP phones and perform monitoring using the mirror port. No fan so no noise. Easy management to support configuring mutiple VLANs.
