The switch is the backbone of any business network and the ProSafe Plus 16-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch from NETGEAR has the hardware needed to manage network traffic with ease. Each port found on this ProSafe Plus switch is capable of supporting up to 2 Gbps data throughput to ensure even the most bandwidth intensive tasks function virtually lag free, and with PoE compliant ports devices like IP cameras, VoIP equipment and more can be powered directly from the switch. With plug-and-play setup, the switch can be integrated into an existing network quickly and efficiently thus reducing downtime. Once configured, the switch is capable of handling multiple VLANs, and offers various networking features such as enhanced Quality of Service functionality, IGMP Snooping, and much more. Furthermore, it is powered by an internal 85W PSU.

Love the JGS line from NETGEAR, recommend it for the home network nerds that want a GUI interface to have some control over specific network protocols. I already have the JGS524PE and had a simple NETGEAR 8 port die on me, being I have several POE connections, it was time to dump the two small 8 port units and get the 16PE. It was tricky getting into it the first time via the PROSAFE app, nothing that can’t be overcome if you understand how to configure your desktop to do so, maybe NETGEAR can revisit that part of it making it a little bit more plug and play. I recommend this unit and all NETGEAR products, I have the ORBI 850 with 2 S850’s, JGS524PE, JGS516PE and CM1000.

This switch is a really good value. I have two of them. One is going to need an RMA due to some issues with Poe ports, but otherwise this is a great switch!
