Super simple to replace my last non-gigabit rackmount switch.
Alena Stehr (verified owner) –
I work at a 6-floor apartment/vacation rental facility. We have wireless access points at either end of each floor (12 total). This was our first upgrade in years and has greatly boosted speed everywhere.
Alexandrine Nitzsche (verified owner) –
Ordering was easy, got product quickly. Easy-peasy!
Caitlyn Rowe (verified owner) –
I buy Netgear products because they just work and work. Set it and forget it, as they say. The only reason I replaced the switch with a new one is that the old one didn’t support gigabit networking, which should tell you how long it’s been in my server rack.
Virgil Weissnat (verified owner) –
I have owned many Netgear switches and this one is excellent like all the rest. Easy to install and setup.
Zion Frami (verified owner) –
This unmanaged switch is easy to mount on a rack or on a wall. Easy to verify speed via lights that glow different color indicating 100 Megs, etc. Compact in size it worked right out of the box as expected. The AC power cord is one that is the standard for PC computers so longer cords are readily available, if you are not close to an AC outlet.

Plug it in, turn it on, and start attaching cables. I have yet to determine if I am missing something by not having a managed switch. Chances are my home network including IP surveillance will not require it. Still, having the opportunity to manipulate characteristics IF needed could play in the future. This device is well-priced, however, and if those needs never arise, then this will serve well. Surveillance, entertainment media components, and IT elements including scanner, printers, desktop, laptops, UPS, NAS seem quite at home and comfy. Expansion opportunities seem limited (not stackable).

I have mostly Netgear equipment throughout my home network, and they have been very reliable. I had an older Cisco switch, which had some failing ports, so bought this to replace it. Worked without issue, and has been up and running for 4 months without issues.
