Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

I have learned way more about Wifi routers and systems and things of the like trying to fix the connection between my Apple HomePod and Wifi. But, before I go into that I’ll start with positives, I love this router and the reach it has. It was easy to set up and the app is great for monitoring everything. Aside from the Apple issue I love it. Now to the issue. The main wifi is in my Living room and the satellite is down in my bedroom, the connectivity and strength between them is amazing (something I didn’t get with extenders). I also have 5 HomePods scattered throughout the house 2 in my room, 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the living room. The problem is that the satellite is an “access point” (also forgive me if I use the wrong words [I’ve learned all this on the fly]) which means its still connected to the main wifi router but it acts independently. which means it can’t connect to the other hompods and the home app because essentially all the HomePods and other apple devices are “on a different” wifi network. I’ve tried everything and have not been able to find a solution and I’m also not a techie either, but yeah all in all great router, but beware if your deep in the Orchard.

We were having issues with our Google Nest Mesh system so tried this out and love the speed. We don’t have reboot it 3-5 times daily like we did with the other one. Nobody on the network has had any issues with streaming or gaming. That is for a household of 3 adults and 2 kids. We use a streaming service for our tv provider and tons of apple products.
