Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

Overall it was easy to install. It took a few tries to get it to connect, but turns out my internet provider was doing some work and internet was flickering in and out (what are the odds it would happen at the same time I was installing?). So giving the benefit of the doubt to Netgear on that. So far, much better signal throughout the house. I have not yet tested to see if it is better in the yard yet. Even though I did use the same name and password as my old network, I did have to re-install printers to get them to work, as well as had to re-login on some devices. My main complaint is the constant notifications from the included security trial, which I found no way to edit other than to totally eliminate notifications.

The nighthawk has been great, but 1 of my satellites has been ineffective for the last month. Granted it’s not in a location of most usage, and the ones that are have been working, but the Nighthawk system also crashed while I was working and was down for a hour. I can’t have situations like this while at work. They aren’t bad products, just need some adjustments to the network system I guess.
