Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

I bought this Nighthawk as an Orbi replacement. I was a little worried that due to lack of backhaul channel that wifi would be spotty but I was wrong. This wifi6 mesh works better then my orbi. Speeds are fast and setup was a breeze with the Nighthawk app. I replaced my orbi due to constant dropouts and resets, but since switching my wifi has been rock solid. The price point of this mesh was also a selling point to me.

I noticed that my in home wifi through my modem/router combo was not quite keeping up with the demand of IOT devices and our personal/work devices and our connections were always competing for bandwidth. I added the mesh system and moved our computing devices over and it has made a world of difference in our speeds and we were able to cover all dead zones with 2 satellites.

I have a three story home. So I purchased the Net Gear mesh system to eliminate the multiple extenders I had throughout my home. Non of which were that great at providing a good reliable signal. Now with the mesh I have the router unit in my bedroom, the satellite unit in the first floor hallway and we now have strong coverage throughout the home. My son has his computer in the basement and has no issues. At the time of this review I am sitting outside my back door and have full Wi-Fi signal. The system so far has been awesome and since my purchase I upgraded to a Net Gear Nighthawk Modem. Now when I connect a device to the network I see one network not three different networks.
