Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

My service provider provides 600 Mbps down and I measure the same within 6 ft of the route wirelessly. At 20 feet from the router, I measure 400 Mbps and at 30 feet I measure about 200 Mbps. I believe this distance and performance is not as good as it should be, although it is better than I did have with other routers.

I bought the Nighthawk mesh system because I was having a problem getting a good signal in my shop about 80 feet from my router. I put one of the satellite units in my shop and it connected with excellent signal strength and also has good strength in the shop garage about 40 feet away from the satellite unit. I was previously using 2 extenders and was losing signal strength. I bought the Nighthawk unit with 2 satellites refurbished. They looked like brand new and work like new. Also, the app made it really easy to install the system. Highly recommend this system.
