Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

Router and satellite boosters seem to be working well. No worries there but I have had troubles with the app to monitor the WiFi. I removed it and reinstalled it and it still doesn’t recognize theft wifi. I’m using it and it keeps saying it’s not connected and to have me unplug it and try it start over again.

I had been using a much older, self-built wifi bridge setup to connect the media server in my office to the rest of the house. It worked, but was slow and finicky. Upgraded to the Nighthawk Mesh System, and it’s a night and day difference. Easy setup (hey, there’s an app for that!), and great monitoring software built in means I can see everything that’s attached to the network in one place, to include link speeds and throughput. The wifi link between the satellite and the base station is over 800Mbps, which means I’m not worried about in-network speeds anymore. Can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner…
