Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

Installation was straightforward and all seems to work as expected. This was only after I turned off the provided Armor security software and rebooted the hardware. The security software significantly slowed down my internet performance in terms of opening new web sites, and in some cases made some common websites unusable.

We live in a pre-civil war house where the walls are almost 8″ thick. I had the Nighthawk R7000 before and it worked quite well for a year or so until the security encryptions heightened and lowered the bandwidth. This mesh system is the best solution as the satellites amplify the WiFi signal and there’s no loss of bandwidth. I would have enjoyed more Ethernet ports on the main router as I had to purchase a switch for those. Yet, the satellites do have available ports and I’ve been able to utilize those well. The Nighthawk app is extremely useful and easy to setup.

It’s so fast and I love the seemed integration. It really gives me service in the backyard, garage, and the far end of m house. Previously I had the standard router that came with my internet service and an extender. The wifi on the extended was terrible and even the router was not very fast. I upgraded my plan to 1g and I am actually seeing 900gb in the speed test. I also have a 3,300 square foot house and I have service on every inch of the house now. Love it !
