Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

The system is easy to set up. The differentiation between the 2.4 and 5 ghz bands is not easy to create. There appears to be an internal naming system problem. The satellites can be slow to connect. Coverage seems pretty good. Extra satellites are expensive. The TPLink mesh system I have at another home appears to be better.

We had an older nighthawk but we needed to upgrade, we had some rooms in the corner of the house that couldn’t get a wifi signal. With the Nighthawk dual-band wifi6 system it took care of that issue. Simple to set up! We are now getting the speed that we are paying for!!

I’ve been in the wireless internet industry for close to 20 years now and this the first time I’ve been truly impressed with a router system. Excellent coverage. The most impressive example would be a property that I have them deployed at with the MR60 in the house, 1 MS60 in a metal shop approximately 50ft from the house, and another MS60 in the detached garage approximately 75ft from the house. Full signal and rated speeds everywhere, all three buildings and the property in between. My only complaint would be the lack of ability to change the channel width to 20/40mhz. I use wireless radios in the 5ghz band and it would be nice to have that ability as to not overlap with my radio channels. At home with my Comcast cable feed it is not necessary. Overall, this router is above par and I recommend it to everyone that asks. A

Replaced a system that was going bad. The Nighthawk never got up. Put back in the box, but did order a replacement. Grandson said: “Now you made the mistake”. Hopefully, it is just that one.

For an advanced mesh system you should be able to create more than one wireless network to keep your iot devices away from the rest of the network and be able to set that to 2.4ghz only for distance and the iot devices which will not connect to 5ghz networks which is a significant amount of them. Routers from more than 15years ago allowed this and they were not labelled as advanced.

The initial set up was a little difficult with figuring out the syncing. However I needed to reach out to 24:7 help to get the handoffs to work and keep the wifi stable on the satellites. The directions were easy to follow once I got those and the staff person was helpful
