Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

The smart phone app made installation simple. It was easy to set it up to the SSID on the old router. Although this model has the capability to set up multiple SSIDs I had to search to find out how to do it.

This 3-unit product provides a wide coverage area for 2-story, 3100 sq.ft home. It was also configurable to enable connectivity from an older laptop with an older network card. The added bonus of free 90-day tech support was a huge help understanding what had to change to allow the old laptop to connect. Setup was easy but requires a smart phone app which also allows for full control of the network. Very pleased.
