Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

Installed in my 1600 Sq ft concrete block house in a few minutes replacing a troublesome Rukus central ceiling mount system. Reading the simple directions and following them was easy with no jargon to deal with. Signal is strong through out the house and into the front and back walls as well as to the whole house generator off to the side of the building. I like the app functionally although the advertising that comes through it is a little heavy handed (I can of course turn it off if I choose). This is my 3rd Netgear system over the last 15 years and superior to all past wifi units.

I gave this thing two stars. One for the router and the second for the satellite that usually stays connected. No points for the satellite that never stays connected. It’s a tad slow. And I’m just basically not very impressed with the product. I have troubleshot this thing to death regarding the wayward satellite and slower speeds but the thing is I don’t feel I should Have to do anything to a new item out of the box. Oh well.
