Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

I recently purchased a Nighthawk mesh system with a router and two satellites. The setup was easy, all I had to do was plug the router into my modem, plug in the two satellites and follow the directions in the app. Connectivity in my house has now gone up significantly. The only real downfall I note is that the router can’t function as a modem itself, that said I would still highly recommend this product.

I’ve had a lot of trouble keeping it online. I had a previous system that worked flawlessly for a year, but then after a power outage a satellite dropped off and would not work again under any circumstances. I’d installed these new satellites to the old network, but that was problematic, so I used the new base and took it all back to factory settings. I am still having trouble keeping it going and it’s making me crazy. One of the new satellites won’t work at all. 🙁

This mesh system works well. A bit difficult to set up and name each device as the initial set up gives the devices generic names and you must trace each IP address to identify each device.

I bought this Netgear Nighthawk mesh system to increase Wi-Fi signal strength throughout my house. It turns out that was a great plan! I was using the “stock” system from my isp with Xfi pods to extend my range. That was working pretty well, but the Netgear systems doubled my number of satellites and added a lot of software and hardware security. Setup was fast and easy. I am very pleased with the flexibility backhaul and to add more satellites if needed. 5 stars, love it!
