Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

Overall good product. Netgear app is straight forward, coverage in our 3 story home (finished basement where modem and base router are located, 1st and 2nd floor) is good. Wifi goes through multiple walls and when hooked to a signal booster by TP link, we are able to extend the signal to our combined 1/3 acre side yard and back yard. Netgear 2nd unit is located on the second floor and was a little fussy when we tried to find a location where it would connect to the base router. Home is a stick built design, no cynder block, from the year 2000.

It kept dropping connection for me, for a few seconds every few minutes. Took forever to try to figure it out, no luck. Returned it and got a TP-Link Deco (I had an older version of the same before) and I had it up and running in about half an hour.

There are a lot of odd construction details in my 200 year old house, so it was challenging to install the network. We needed several extra satellites to accomplish the job, and there are still a few dead spots. But overall, the WiFi is much faster than it was, and we’re happy with the results overall. The software is somewhat buggy. We can’t see the satellites on the map, and installation took quite a while because the router didn’t recognize some of the satellites on the first couple of tries. All working now.

I have a pretty stretched out home (about 2200sqft) with 5 rooms, and lots of turns and turns in the hallways, and had a lot of trouble getting anything over 25mps in those areas, even with a good gaming router. There mesh boxes were able to bring about 700mg/ps in those areas…and the great thing is they let you even hardwire a Cat5 or higher to them too. Love mine
