Upgrade your home to reliable, high-speed 802.11ax Wi-Fi using the Nighthawk MK62 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System from Netgear and have the freedom to smoothly stream 4K video, play games, and operate smart home devices from almost anywhere. This kit includes a compact router and a satellite that each use four internal antennas to wirelessly transfer data at up to 1.8 Gb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands without having to set up multiple network names and passwords. The system provides wireless coverage for homes up to 3000 square feet, and additional satellites may be added separately to expand your home’s Wi-Fi coverage and eliminate dead zones. Both the router and satellite are backward compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards such as 802.11ac and each include a Gigabit Ethernet port for connecting wired devices such as smart TVs and video game consoles. Two Ethernet cables are included to get you started. You can configure and monitor the router and its satellite using the downloadable Nighthawk mobile app.

This wifi mesh system has completely changed our home wifi experience. With a big family, we have a lot of different items that rely on fast internet and it was always so frustrating to have extremely slow streaming speeds on TV or failure to load pages on our phones or laptops… but this Nighthawk Wifi Mesh System instantly changed all of that. The setup was super easy and took only a couple of minutes (it even comes with a free app download to help the setup and to manage your system). We placed the two small satellites (which are very discreet and really modern/aesthetic looking) in locations spaced out from the router attachment that comes with it, and suddenly areas of our home that had terrible wifi before are now operating perfectly with high speeds. 10/10 would recommend to anyone hoping to improve their current wifi situation.

Easy to set up with the app, walks you through the process step by step. Once up and running the app is a great tool to check the status of the wifi including the satellites, see what and how many devices are connected, and even perform a speed test.

I bought this because the previously purchased router extender did not work. There were still parts of the house where I couldn’t get a signal. Now a signal is very strong throughout the house. The problem: VERY poor installation instructions, both paper and on the app. In fact the instructions on the app were just plain wrong. And Youtube videos showed things different from formal instructions…and yet still could not get a sognal. Spent at least four hours trying to install. Solution: Just call their IT Support line (Google the number). I was up and running very soon after the call.

This device certainly has improved our home internet but the purchase was made as a trial because, for those of us less IT savvy, the true function and installation was a mystery until opening the box. Only the base (router) needs to be connected to an Ethernet cable. That was key for our installation.
