The R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart Wi-Fi Router from Netgear uses a dual core 1GHz processor and AC1900 Wi-Fi technology to deliver speed and performance that’s perfect for gaming and streaming HD video. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, providing up to 1900 Mbps (600 on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 on the 5.0 GHz band) data transfer rates.
The Nighthawk router utilizes Beamforming+ technology, meaning that unlike omnidirectional Wi-Fi which fans the signal out within a range, it communicates directly with devices such as tablets or smartphones, and beams a signal specifically to the device. This reduces interference, and provides stronger, faster, and more reliable connections. Mobile Wi-Fi speeds are much faster than previous technology thanks to the router’s high-powered amplifiers and antennas.
The R7000 Nighthawk router also supports both Google Voice assistant and Amazon’s Alexa for added functionality.

Works wonderfully for networks with 20 devices or less with a fairly high wireless speed cap of 600 mbps. The accompanying Nighthawk smartphone app is also extremely useful with monitoring your router’s performance and includes a free trial of a Netgear’s wireless security service (Armorware) and 90 days of free technical support for your device. Overall would highly recommend this product!

I have been using this for over 3 years and it has rarely given me an issue (like needing a reset). Setup is quick and easy especially with the app, and the range is good. Now, I don’t have a gigantic house, but I can even get good signal in my neighbor’s house! Works great for all my Ring cameras now. My old router kept showing a weak signal of ( -72 RSSI) Received Signal Strength Indicator to my Ring floodlight / camera. This camera / floodlight is approximately 60 feet away from my router. With this new router I’m reading a consistent -60 which works great now. I would definitely recommend this device to anyone wanting to upgrade their router!!!

Had this router for 1 year and 2 months exactly and what do you know, stopped connecting to the internet. I have a seperate modem that I connect to this router. When it worked it was alright, wifi speeds are really slow to be honest. Seems to be a trend with netgear products. I have never had one last more then a year or so. Anyway, the r7000 was receiving internet from my modem but not sending internet to any devices. Tried power cycling and factory reset and still nothing. Ended up buying a new router and everything works great again so clearly the netgear r7000 was defective after 14 months of use. and for the price point I would hope to get more out of it. I have been a loyal Netgear user for years but this was the last straw. Bought a Linksys product this time around. Netgear has just consistently been an OK product when it works and they also stop working after about a year of use. Waste of money, look elsewhere.
